New Auchan hypermarket in Bucharest targets EUR 100 million sales
The new Auchan hypermarket opened this week in the Drumul Taberei neighborhood in Bucharest could reach annual sales of over EUR 100 million in a few years, but will not exceed the sales of the Auchan hypermarket in the Titan neighborhood, the largest one in the Romanian network, said Frederic Bellon, the head of Auchan Romania, cited by local Mediafax.
The new hypermarket, with a 10,500 sqm sales area and 450 employees, is the 8th Auchan hypermarket in Bucharest and the 32nd in the country and is located within a shopping center developed by Immochan, the real estate subsidiary of the French group. T
he center also includes a 9,500 sqm shopping galleria, 1,600 parking spaces and an office area, where the Auchan, Immochan and Oney employees will move starting April or May next year. The investment in the project amounted to EUR 60 million.
