New bike lane links Romanian and Hungarian cities
The first bike lane that links Romania and neighboring Hungary is being unofficially inaugurated today, June 25, reports local Digi24.
With a length of 35 kilometers, the bike lane will connect Oradea, a city located in the western part of Romania, and Hungarian city Berettyoujfalu, located at about 25 kilometers from the border.
The cost of the new bike lane amounted to EUR 6 million, and money came from European Funds, The official inauguration will take place later this summer, according to Digi24.
A group of young Hungarian bikers will cover three quarters of the route, thus promoting the days of St. Ladislaus, a major celebration of the Hungarian community in Oradea.
