A new British Ambassador to Romania has been appointed, and he will take over his mandate in summer this year.

Paul Brummell, currently British Ambassador to Barbados and East Caribbean, will replace Martin Harris, who's next assignment is Moscow. Brummell has been a diplomat since 1987, and was also Ambassador to Kazakhstan and non-resident ambassador to Kyrgyzstan.

Brummell will learn Romanian before starting his Romania assignment, as advised by Harris, who also speaks Romanian and like to recite poems by Romania's national poet Mihai Eminescu.
