New cars registered in Romania, up 10% in nine months

The number of new car registered in Romania in the first nine months of this year was down 10.3 percent, to 55,800 units, compared to the same period of 2010, according to data from the Driving Licenses and Car Registration Center. The number of new registered cars went up in September this year by a mere 0.22 percent, compared to September last year.

Dacia was the most sold brand in September, with 1,937 sold units, up 8.5 percent on September 2010. It was followed by Volkswagen, Skoda and Renault. Dacia was also first in terms of car registrations in the first nine months, with 15,400 units, which was a drop of 24 percent on January – September 2010.
