New car registrations in Romania slightly up in September, but down in first nine months

New passenger car registrations in Romania went up by 0.2 percent in September this year compared to the same month of 2010, to a total number of 6,875, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA). However, the number of passenger car registration in the first nine months reported a year-on-year decrease of 10.3 percent, down to a total of 55,895 cars registered in January-September 2011, from 62,348 registrations reported in the same period last year.

In the EU, the number of passenger cars registration also went down by 1.1 percent in the first nine months of 2011, compared to the same period last year, to a total of over 10 million.
