New vehicle registrations increased in April by 11.49% year-on-year in Romania, to 8,100 units. Some 5,480 of these were cars - 11.15% more than in April last year.

Dacia remains the favourite car brand in Romania, with over 1,671 units sold, up 6.3% year-on-year. Volkswagen comes next, with 579 cars, up 30.7% over April 2014. Ford ranks third, with 545 units, more than double on April 2014, followed by Skoda, with 508 units, up 5.61%.

Brands like Alfa Romeo, Lexus, Subaru or Tesla Motors each registered only 4 new units.

Semitrailer registrations increased by 32.5% to 326 units, whereas tractor registrations rose by over a quarter, to 38 units.
