New coffee brand improves Strauss Romania’s sales
Strauss Romania, the producer of the Doncafé coffee brand, increased its sales by almost 27% in the first half of the year, to EUR 28.4 million.
The growth was supported by the Amigo brand, which the group Strauss Coffee acquired last year from the Brazilian coffee producer CIA Iguacu de Cafe Soluvel, reports local Ziarul Financiar. Strauss paid EUR 20 million to buy the brand, domains and exclusive rights to use the Amigo recipe.
Excluding Amigo, the company’s sales in Romanian currency lei went up by about 11.8% in the first half of the year, but dropped by 0.6% in the second quarter.
