New CRO, CFO at ING Bank Romania
ING Bank Romania will have a new Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and a new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) beginning this summer.
Thomas Bernert is the new CRO at ING Bank Romania. He is replacing Ronald Oort, who is moving on to become CRO at ING Spain.
Bernert joined ING in 2002, in Germany. He held various positions of increasing responsibility in the institution’s Financial, Risk and Treasury departments in Europe and North America. In 2016 he became director of Capital Management with the ING Group. This merged with the treasury director role in 2017. Bernert will begin his assignment in Romania in August of this year.
Serge Offers is the new CFO of the bank. He is taking over from Sven Foos, who will work to build the SMEs division of ING Germany.
Offers has been working with ING for 12 years and has a solid background in finance and regulation. He began his career with ING in 2006 as a finance trainee in the Netherlands. In 2008 he joined the Group Finance Bank team, and beginning with 2014 he was appointed Head of Regulatory Reporting ING Group. He is taking over his role in Romania beginning July of this year.
