New drug found on the Romanian market
Romanian police and prosecutors seized nearly 100 kg of Khat in a recent drug bust. Khat is a new drug that comes from Africa and is considered to be as dangerous as the cocaine or the heroine. It was found in Romania for the first time, reports local Digi24.
Two Romanians that were part of the Khat network were arrested last week. According to investigators, the two Romanians were carrying 75 kg of drugs, which were officially listed as vegetables. The drugs were hidden in some boxes and brought to a garage in Otopeni, a city near Bucharest.
The two Romanians risk spending 20 years behind bars, according to Digi24.
