New drywall factory in Romania, with EUR 50 mln investment
Local company Siniat Romania inaugurated yesterday a plasterboard factory in Turceni, following a EUR 50 million investment. It is the first plant which uses the gypsum resulted from the gas desulphurization process from a heat plant.
The factory, which hires 80 people, is built on a 32-ha plot. The construction work began one and a half years ago.
The Turceni plant will supply ten markets in South-Eastern Europe, according to the company. Its annual production capacity amounts to 27 million square meters, comparable to the surface of 1,000 highway kilometers.
Siniat Romania is part of the Belgian group Etex. The group has activities in 44 countries, and employs some 17,000 people.
