Some 11 new hotels affiliated to international networks will open in Romania in the next two years, leading to the creation of over 1,500 new jobs in the hospitality industry, according to specialists from the Hospitality Management Academy.

The new openings will increase the pressure on the labor market in the tourism sector, which is already very tight, local Agerpres reported.

Seven of the 11 openings will be in Bucharest and four in other cities. The openings announced in Bucharest are Courtyard by Marriott on Dimitrie Pompeiu Blvd., with 259 rooms, Moxy by Marriott – 120 rooms, Indigo, affiliated to the Intercontinental network - 100 rooms, Grand Hotel du Boulevard – 50 rooms, Ibis Operei – 160 rooms and Aviators Park – 259 rooms.

A new Radisson Blu hotel and a Mercure hotel will open in Brasov, each with over 100 rooms. Nymphaea Resort (200 rooms) will open in Oradea and ISHO Radisson Blu (160 rooms) will open in Timisoara.

Hospital Management Academy aims to train over 600 tourist professionals.
