A new Romanian movie will be released this year. The film, called 'Loverboy', is produced by Strada Film, directed by Catalin Mitulescu and features actors who starred in 'If I want to Whistle, I Whistle'. “Loverboy” tells the story of Luca, a 20-year old young man from Harsova who makes girls fall in love with him and then places them to a human trafficking network in Constanta. For police officers, this technique of recruitment is called “crush method” and those who use it are named “loverboys”. Luca apparently decides to stop everything after he falls in love with Veli, but a complaint from a former girlfriend and pressures from his chief force him to make a decision.

The starring role in this new movie went to George Pistereanu (in picture), the main actor from “If I want to whistle, I whistle”. On the distribution list you can also find Ada Condeescu, who also had the leading female role in 'If I want to Whistle, I whistle”, Bogdan Dumitrache, Alexandru Mititelu, Remus Margineanu and Coca Bloos.

'If I Want to Whistle, I Whistle' is Romania’s official entry into this year’s Oscar competition for Best Foreign Language Film. The 83rd edition of the U.S. Academy Awards will take place on February 27, 2011 at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Los Angeles.
