New vehicle registrations up by 12% in Romania in May
Almost 9,900 new vehicles were registered in Romania in May, 12% more compared to the same month of last year.
Some 6,345 of the vehicles registered were passenger cars, according to data released by the Driving Licenses and Registrations office.
Romanian brand Dacia was first by the number of cars registered, with 1,502 units, but the number was 18.4% lower compared to May 2015. Skoda had 719 units registered, up by 5.3% year-on-year, Volkswagen came next, with 580 units (+12%), and Ford was fourth, with 525 units (+45%).
Almost 30,000 new passenger cars were registered in Romania in the first five months of this year, 16% more compared to the similar period of last year.
The total number of vehicles registered in Romania at the end of 2015 was 6.6 million.
