New vehicle registrations go up 25% in Romania in May
About 12,500 new vehicles were registered in Romania in May, up by 25% compared to the same month of 2016, according to data from the Driver Licenses and Registrations Department - DRPCIV.
The highest growth rate was registered on the light commercial vehicles segment, where registrations increased by 61%. Passenger car registrations also went up by 27%.
Some 1,645 new Dacia cars were registered in May, up 9.5% year-on-year. Volkswagen was second, with 1,023 units, up 76% over May 2016, and Skoda came third with 755 registrations, up 5%.
