Nine more people die after Colectiv fire in Bucharest, death toll at 41

Nine of the people injured last Friday in the Colectiv club fire in Bucharest died on Saturday, November 7, more than a week from the tragedy. Seven people died in Bucharest, in the various hospitals where they were being treated, while two died in The Netherlands, after being transferred there for better treatment.

The nine deaths on Saturday brought the total number of victims in Colectiv to 41.

The following days are decisive for the patients who are severely injured. More than 45 out of the 102 have sustained serious injuries and are in critical condition.

18 of the victims were sent by plane to clinics in Belgium, The Netherlands and Austria on Saturday, November 7. Prior to this, two others were sent to Israel: Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. On Sunday, four more people are scheduled to be sent to Norway and Finland. Next week, hospitals in France, UK and Germany will also welcome patients from Romania. The Romanian Government will cover the costs for all patients treated abroad.
