Nuclearelectrica posts EUR 46 mln loss after profit last year
State-owned company Nuclearelectrica, which administrates the two nuclear reactors in Cernavoda, posted a loss of around EUR 46 million in the first six months of the year. The company turned to loss after making a gross profit of around EUR 25.6 million in the first six months of last year.
The company says the negative result is due to the depreciation of the local currency and to registering the exchange rate differences for all the loans taken for the investment in the second Cernavoda unit. Nuclearelectrica has a EUR 950 million loan for starting the second Cernavoda unit, which is due to be paid in 2026.
