The number of building permits issued in Romania for residential buildings rose by 0.4% in the first two months of the year compared to the same period in 2015, to 3,938.

In four of Romania’s regions the number of permits went up whereas only two regions saw decreases.

In February, the number of building permits for residential buildings increased by 11.6% compared to February 2015. The only part of Romania where the number of permits went down was the North-East region.

In total, authorities issued 2,509 permits for residential buildings in February, 63.4% of which were for rural areas.
