Number of unemployed goes up in Romania in July
The number of unemployed in Romania increased by almost 4,500 in July compared to June, reaching over 451,000. The unemployment rate amounted to 4.99% at the end of July, up by 0.05 percentage points compared to June.
The Teleorman county recorded the highest unemployment rate, of 11.52%, followed by the Vaslui county (10.67%), and Mehedinti (9.51%). The Timis County, by contrast, had the lowest unemployment rate, of 1.38%.
In Bucharest, the unemployment rate reached 1.92% at the end of July, with the number of unemployed amounting to over 21,000 people for a total active population of over 1.1 million.
