OBI opens DiY store in Ploiesti with EUR 5 mln
Do-it-yourself retailer OBI opened a new store in Ploiesti yesterday, its fifth store in Romania. The new unit required an investment budget of EUR 5 million and covers 10,000 sqm, out of which 8,500 sqm sales area. The store is located in the same retail park as hypermarket Real, which is a similar setup as in the Bucharest Policolor retail park, which opens today.
OBI, which is part of the German retail group Tengelmann, is planing to continue expansion in Romania this year. It runs 523 stores in 13 countries in Europe.
