Oil spills found in Romanian and Bulgarian waters, 30 km from Black Sea shore
A Black Sea monitoring agency has found oil spills in the Bulgarian and Romanian shelf waters, in particular near port cities of Varna and Constanta. “The total area of identified oil slicks is more than ten square kilometers. The distance from oil slicks to the shoreline is about 30 kilometers. Based on type of pollution, experts of the environmental project concluded that oil spills have the character of marine spills. Pollutions are dated by 19 July, 2010,” writes a report from BlackSea-online.com.
