Old town buildings to be demolished to make room for offices and car park. See where
Several buildings in the old part of Bucharest, opposite the Romanian Central Bank (BNR) headquarters will be demolished to make room for office buildings and a 200-spots car park, according to BNR governor Mugur Isarescu.
The buildings which will be demolished will are located on Doamnei St, from the crossroads with Academiei until the National Library headquarters. These includes the former Terasa Doamnei restaurant, which has been closed down, and the buildings behind it. Terasa Doamnei restaurant will move to a new location in Pipera, on Dimitrie Pompei 4A boulevard.
The National Library will move to its new headquarters on Unirii boulevard, which are being renovated and close to completion and the Bucharest Stock Exchange will take its place in the existing building, which was initially destined to host it, according to Isarescu.
