OMV opens Euro Truck stations, plans to re-brand PetromV filling units

Oil and gas company OMV has opened the first two gas stations dedicated to transport companies, under the OMV Euro Truck brand name, and plans to open another four such stations in the next years in Romania, the company has announced. The investment in the first two units was of EUR 1 million. The group started building similar gas stations in Austria in 2007.

The first two stations in Romania are on the A1 highway, in the Bucharest West Logistics Park, and on A2 highway, close to Lehliu.

The oil and gas company, which owns Romanian company Petrom, plans to re brand 120 gas stations it runs in Romania under the PetromV brand. The company runs gas stations under the Petrom, OMV and Petrom V brand. The planned re-branding, which will cost EUR 5 million, will turn the PetromV stations either under the OMV or Petrom brands, according to Rainer Schlang, head of the OMV Petrom directorate. The company plans to run 150 premium gas stations under the OMV brand and 400 under the Petrom brand by the end of the year.

OMV owns 51.01 percent of the shares in Petrom. The rest of Petrom's shares belong to the Romanian state, through the Economy Ministry (20.64 percent), Proprietatea Fund, with 20.11 percent, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), with 2.03 percent.
