OMV Petrom board gives expat CEO full four-year mandate
The supervisory board of Romania’s biggest oil and gas company OMV Petrom on March 14 endorsed CEO Christina Verchere for a full four-year term.
She took office in 2018, replacing former CEO Mariana Gheorghe, who left the company after managing it for 12 years. Verchere's first mandate was only one year, namely until April 2019, when Mariana Gheorghe's term was supposed to expire.
Christina Verchere came to OMV Petrom after working for BP for over 20 years.
The board granted Verchere and the other managing board members full four-year mandates starting April 17, 2019, until April 16, 2023. Peter Zeilinger - Member of the Directorate in charge with Upstream, Radu Căprău - Member of the Directorate in charge with Downstream Oil, and Franck Neel - Member of the Directorate in charge with Downstream Gas, also had their mandates renewed.
Moreover, the Supervisory Board of OMV Petrom confirmed the decision of April 26, 2018, to appoint Romanian Alina-Gabriela Popa as CFO and member of the managing board with a four-year mandate from April 17, 2019, to 16 April 2023.
