Romanian group OMV Petrom announces new dividend policy

OMV Petrom, the biggest oil and gas group in Romania, will change its dividend policy in the next years to ensure shareholders comfort regarding a stable, predictable and attractive dividend in the years to come, the company announced on Wednesday, April 4.

“OMV Petrom is committed to deliver a competitive shareholder return throughout the business cycle, including paying a progressive dividend. We aim to increase our dividend each year or at least maintain it at the previous year’s level, in line with the financial performance and investment needs, considering the long term financial health of the company,” reads a notice from OMV Petrom.

This year, OMV Petrom will pay a gross dividend of RON 0.02 per share, up by a third compared to last year (RON 0.015 per share). Since taking over the company, in 2004, Austrian group OMV has received dividends almost every year.
