One in two Romanians believe country's PM will be the new president

Over 52 percent of the respondents in a survey conducted by INSCOP Research believe that Romania’s current Prime Minister Victor Ponta will win the presidential elections in the country in November this year.

Klaus Iohannis, the new leader of the National Liberal Party PNL, is seen as the winner by 23.6 percent of the respondents.

None of the other candidates mentioned in the study made more than 5 percent. For example, former PNL leader Crin Antonescu made 4.6 percent, former Romanian Prime Minister Mihai Razvan Ungureanu - 4.4 percent and Calin Popescu Tariceanu - 2.4 percent.

The survey was conducted between July 1 and July 6, on a sample of over 1,000 people, and was requested by the Adevarul newspaper.
