Online book sales exceed EUR 20 mln in Romania

24 March 2015

Romania's online book sales make about 20% of the total book market, which stands at about EUR 100 million, according to Tudor Benga, CEO Okian.ro.

The online segment is growing, said Benga, cited by local Ziarul Financiar. Book demand is on the up, as the economy is improving.

When the economy starts to “move”, people start reading more books in English, because these are related to professional growth, said Benga.

Okian.ro, which trades books in English, sold last year 40,000 books. Its turnover reached EUR 293,000.
