“Romanians highly appreciate technology and are always seeking the latest gadgets. They want the smartphone or tablet they intend to buy to meet a number of requirements: to be easy to use, have multiple features, a higher autonomy for the battery, a nice design, a good camera, and access to various apps and social networks, such as Facebook, Twitter, or Whatsapp,” said Dan Dumitrescu, general manager of Elka-Oktal Group, the company that owns Oktal.ro.
On average, Romanians allocate some RON 1,000 (over EUR 220) for a smartphone without mobile telephony subscription, and RON 800 (almost EUR 180) for a tablet.
