The National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) is currently investigating over 5,100 criminal cases.

The DNA employs about 110 prosecutors, but only 86 of them are in charge of the 5,100 cases, while 25 of them take part in trials, said Laura Codruta Kovesi, DNA chief prosecutor.

The institution also employs 190 judicial policemen, which are essential for its activity, Kosevi added.

“There are many cases for a small number of prosecutors. That is why the judicial policemen within the DNA play a crucial role,” she said, cited by local Agerpres.
