Orange will supply mobile services to Romania's telecom regulator
The largest local telecom player Orange Romania will supply the local telecommunication authority ANCOM with fixed and mobile telephone services, as well as Internet services, following a public auction.
The contract is worth EUR 1.8 million, VAT included, and has been attributed for four years. The contract was initially estimated at EUR 2.4 million, according to the auction notice, reports local Profit.ro.
The joint venture of Telekom Romania Mobile Communications and Nextgen Communications also took part in the bidding. Orange Romania had several subcontractors, including Radcom, UPC Romania, Prime Telecom, Net Team, Fiber Net, and Ericsson Telecommunications Romania.
Orange Romania is currently ANCOM’s provider of telecom services, after it had won a EUR 2.9 million contract in December 2011.
ANCOM is the state institution that regulates the local telecom and postal services market.
