"The King's Speech", an Oscar-nominated movie directed by Tom Hooper will be screened in Romanian cinemas from February 11. "The King's Speech" has already won a Golden Globe Award for the best performance by an actor in a motion picture -Colin Firth- and has been nominated to 12 Oscar Awards.

The film tells the story of the man who became King George VI of Great Britain, father of the current Queen of Great Britain. After his brother abdicates, George ("Bertie") reluctantly assumes the throne. Affected by a dreaded stammer and considered unable to be king, Bertie hires an unorthodox speech therapist named Lionel Logue. Through a set of unexpected techniques, and as a result of an unlikely friendship, Bertie is able to find his voice and boldly lead the country through war.

The film stars Colin Firth as the leading character, along with Geoffrey Rush and Helena Bonham Carter. The 83rd edition of the U.S. Academy Awards will take place on February 27, 2011 at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Los Angeles.
