Over 2.75 mln Romanians lack high-speed Internet access
Almost 6,400 localities in Romania, inhabited by over 2.75 million Romanians, didn’t have any access or distribution networks for fixed high-speed Internet at the end of the last year.
Romania's Communications Authority ANCOM has carried out a study on this, to support the Agriculture and Rural Development Ministry (MADR). The Ministry coordinates the implementation of development programs in broadband infrastructure in Romania’s rural areas.
Over 6,400 localities with 2.85 million inhabitants didn’t have any access networks for high-speed internet.
Some 6,600 localities with 3.03 million inhabitants didn’t have any distribution networks for high-speed internet while some 6,300 localities didn’t have any access networks, nor distribution networks for high-speed internet.
