Over 3 mln Romanians watch FIFA World Cup final on state-owned TV channel TVR 1
A total of 3.4 million Romanians watched the FIFA World Cup final broadcast by the state television TVR 1 on Sunday evening (July 13), according to data from the Romanian Television cited by local news agency Mediafax. Thus, the TV station was leader in terms of audience. TVR had the exclusive rights in Romania to broadcast the World Cup matches.
TVR 1 recorded, between 22,00 and 00,36 an average rating of 18.4 percent and an average market share of 43 percent at a national level.
In terms of audience from the urban area, the final won by Germany was watched by almost 2 million people (average rating of 19.3 percent and average market share of 43.7 percent).
The most watched moment of the match was recorded at the end of the first half, when 4.22 million Romanians were watching TVR 1 (rating of 22.8 percent, market share of 46 percent). From the total, 2.3 million viewers were from the urban area.
TVR broadcasted live and exclusively all the World Cup matches, on TVR 1, TVR HD and online on TVR+.
