The number of building permits for residential buildings exceeded 39,100 last year, up by 3.8% compared to 2014.

Five regions saw increases in the number of building permits, namely the North-East, South-East, South-Muntenia, North-West, and South-West Oltenia regions. Drops have been recorded in three Romanian regions, namely the Bucharest-Ilfov, Centre, and West regions.

Over 2,870 building permits for residential buildings were issued in December 2015, up by 6.6% compared to November, and up 7.1% compared to December 2014.

Only in three regions, the number of building permits saw a monthly increase, whereas in five regions the number went down.
