Over 47,000 homes completed in Romania in 2015
The number of homes that were completed last year rose to over 47,000 units, up by 10.4% compared to 2014.
More than half (52.8%) of them were built in urban areas whereas 47.2% of them were built in villages.
The number of homes made with private funds increased by 4,026 last year compared to 2014, to 45,692, whereas the number of homes built with public funds rose by 402, to 1,325, according to the National Statistics Institute (INS).
Most of the new homes completed in 2015 were located in the Bucharest-Ilfov area, namely over 11,000 units. The second most active region in terms of new homes was the North-East region, one of Romania's poorest, with 7,664 new residential units.
