Owner of compound that hosts JW Marriott in Bucharest plans new office, retail building adjoining hotel
The compound which includes the five-star JW Marriott Hotel in Bucharest could be expanded with a three-storey building which would include offices, retail and parking spaces, according to a project presented to the Urbanism Commission of the Bucharest City Hall, and quoted by local HotNews.ro.
The building would be tucked away behind the hotel, on the existing parking lot site. The owner of the compound, Societatea Companiilor Hoteliere Grand, has proposed this project, which is pending approvals from the City Hall.
The compound hosts several high – end fashion shops in the retail galleria The Grand Avenue, inside the building which also hosts the JW Marriott hotel, as well as office areas.
Latest to join the retail part was the Dolce&Gabbana boutique in December 2013, adding to other rands such as Alfred Dunhill, Valentino, Ermanno Scervino, Escada, Roberto Cavalli and Louis Vuitton.
