The famous 'Ox Cart' painting by Romanian painter Nicolae Grigorescu, which was auctioned for EUR 155,000 last week in Bucharest, is among the most expensive art works sold in Romania so far. The painting's value was estimated between EUR 150,000 and EUR 250,000. The painting was sold at Artmark's auction last week and the buyer was Romanian investor Mircea Cristian Vescan (in picture), the owner of Armax Gaz Medias, according to Romanian media.

The most expensive art work auctioned in Romania so far is Camil Ressu's painting called Aise, sold in 2009 for EUR 160,000.  Artmark last week auctioned 127 paintings, out of which112 were sold for a total amount of EUR 800,000. Artmark's next auction will be held on October 28, with auction rooms organized both in Bucharest and in Timisoara.

Armax Gaz Medias, which is listed on the Rasdaq platform of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, produces industrial gas and oil equipments and installlations.
