The school serves 500 students aged 2-18, a diverse learning community with students representing approximately 50 nationalities.
The core aim of the British School of Bucharest is to provide the international student body with the educational and social skills needed for tomorrow’s world. A low student-teacher ratio and small class sizes allow a personalised and highly supportive learning environment, with 100% native English teaching staff.
“The children at BSB have diverse backgrounds, we celebrate a truly international environment and encourage each student to fulfill their academic potential whilst offering a huge range of opportunities as we focus on educating the whole child. After joining our school, everyone will be equal and will only be evaluated by their contribution. In this environment, individuals bloom, learn from each other, and build relationships that last. The benefits of a balanced education, where co-curricular and leadership opportunities are pursued alongside academic study, are proved by our students’ consistently excellent results. I remain convinced that continued success is also a result of our careful attention and a commitment to try our hardest to ensure that each child at BSB achieves to their highest potential, entering higher education fully prepared as well-rounded and confident young people.” said Philip Walters, Headmaster British School of Bucharest (in picture).
The school provides a positive, stimulating, secure and caring environment that encourages the fulfilment of individual potential and the growth of self-esteem and self-confidence in all areas: academic, social and personal, with emphasis on innovation, creativity, collaboration and active learning.
Gruia, graduate of BSB and beneficiary of the scholarship programme added: “At the BSB there is such a strong bond between every teacher and every student that you can come up and ask them about anything. No matter whom you ask, the teacher or other staff, they are always here to help you and that all adds up to complete academic care. And it all ends up magnificent.”
Students external examination results for IGCSE and A Level are well above global averages and compare favorably with the highest achieving independent schools in the UK. BSB graduates go on to study at a wide range of top universities in the UK, Europe, North America and beyond.
