Changers, makers, risk-takers: we all have within the power to make a difference in our lives and that of the ones around us. This is why Interconnected is the name of the game at this year’s TEDx Bucharest event. As we grow closer and closer in a rapidly changing world, we begin to see how one small action can trigger a worldwide phenomenon. From social networks to social enterprises, we look at how innovation and sharing bring about massive results. Join the movement on November 7th at Auditorium Pallady and see how the ideas of a few can make a difference for so many.

For the past 7 years, TEDx Bucharest has been a platform that promotes and sparks ideas with the power to ignite change in the society. Every year, 18 of the most important voices from across the world come together in a day-long event where their unique vision is shared and explored. As part of the TEDx independently organized TED conferences, the event aims to become an instrument designed for positive change and development in the local and national community of thinkers and doers.

Some of the speakers in TEDx Bucharest 2015 include:

Adriana IstrateBanking consultant and ultra-marathon runner. After deciding she needs to change something in her life, she turned to running as a way to overcome her limits. Through perseverance and dedication, careful planning and hard work, Adriana managed to complete project 777: one marathon and one ultramarathon on each of the seven continents. She runs for a better life, changing the world one step at a time.

Paul J.R. Renaudwriter, coach and adjunct professor of Marketing. His global experiences make Paul Renaud a true facilitator, with a captivating personality to match. He is specialized in Behavioral Coaching, Peak Performance, Brain Science & Marketing and has launched a book in 2014, named ‘A Networking Book’. Paul is also Adjunct Professor of Marketing at the Maastricht School of Management & the University of New York in Prague (UNYP).

Andrei LupseFounder of Baza Ulmu School of Permaculture. Under Andrei’s watchful eyes, an environment of collaboration created a special place where houses are built of dirt, people take care of livestock and everyone personally knows everyone. Baza Ulmu is a model of botany and ecological agriculture, and an opportunity to learn how everything in nature is influenced by everything else.

Adrian BuzatuResearch associate at University of Glasgow and member of ATLAS experiment at CERN. A scientist but also a teacher and storyteller, Adrian loves to tell the story of the Higgs boson discovery, of which he was a part of, and its implications for science and philosophy. He is also fond of teaching, especially programming for science (C++, ROOT), and how to create great presentation and reports in science.

Vijay Raju Deputy Head of the Global Shapers Community, World Economic Forum. Vijay Raju aims to bring together innovative young voices and global leaders, who can work to shape the future for all mankind. He is an expert on creativity and business model innovation, credited for several successful projects, among which is also the first 3d animations to come out of India. His innovation work has been mentioned in the Lean Startup, Little Black Book of Innovation and First Mile.

Thomas C. KnobelFounder and CEO Nobel & WowApp. After founding his first company at age 7, he went on changing the world through innovative ideas and currently runs businesses on three continents. His latest venture is also his most special project of all time, a project with big ambitions to reinvent world economy and do good in the world through the power of connections and sharing. It has been officially launched in Romania in October 2015.
