After an important career in multinational companies, Oana Nastase has decided to dedicate her time to a cause in which she believes in and which highlights the organiser skills – her passion for movement and sports. Alongside Valeria Răcilă van Groningen they were to start one of the major mass sporting events ever organised in Romania – Bucharest Marathon Raiffeisen Bank, followed by OMV Petrom Bucharest Half Marathon and newly UNIQA 10k & Family Run event Bucharest.
"From the first editions 2008-2009, we intend to develop the mass running and outdoor sports, by launching international competitions with the classic distances for the street athletics. Like any organization which is developing healthy, Bucharest RUNNING CLUB grew organically so that after the start of Bucharest Marathon in 2008, there were needed another 4 years for both the organizing team, the authorities the sponsors and for the market in general, to be prepared for other international mass competitions, namely Bucharest Half Marathon and Bucharest 10k Run & Family."
Oana Nastase believes that "there are several elements identifying the events powered by Bucharest RUNNING CLUB: to be premier events, internationally certified with high standards that combine performance, mass running, amateur sport, civic spirit and charity." The elite athletes have promoted Romania and sports in the spirit of Olympic values respect and positive attitude, are joining forces with artists, coaches, bloggers, personalities to support mass sports and outdoor exercise, by accepting to become ambassadors of the events Bucharest RUNNING CLUB: sport personalities Elisabeta Lipă, Gabriela Szabo, Andreea Răducan and Ivan Patzaichin, Olympic champions rowing - Doina Ignat, Viorica Susanu, Camelia Lupașcu, Georgeta Andrunache, the artists Călin Goia, Dan Helciug, TV personalities Sonia Argint-Ionescu, Daniel Osmanovici, Alex Dima, Gianina Corondan, Oana Tache. Bucharest RUNNING CLUB Premier Events collects the largest amount of money in one day for most charity cases. The participants run and donate to one of the 30 supported causes from different fields: health, social, education, ecology, sustainable development. Bucharest RUNNING CLUB has developed the first platform volunteer sports - www.voluntarinsport.ro, carrying out programs and projects of volunteering, internship for students, master students and adults who want to express their civic spirit, to gain experience or to contribute to the development of their community. Currently, over 1,000 volunteers per year have access to projects and programs of learning and development of skills and competencies.With regard to future plans, Oana Nastase said that "Bucharest RUNNING CLUB team is working for another international concept that will be launched as soon as the approvals will be received. We will continue to facilitate access for individuals, organisations, companies achieve their objectives through sport, balanced lifestyle in harmony with nature and society."

Further registrations can still be made at Sport Expo in Constitution Square between October 7th–8th at one of the races: marathon (42 km), half marathon (21 km), marathon relay (4x10 km), popular race and teens race (3.6 km).
Saturday, October 8 children between 5-12 years will start clustered by age, and parents with children younger than 4 years, could run by pushing the trolleys at the Diapers Jogging race. On the Bucharest Marathon course will be set up more than 20 hydration and entertainment points, over 20,000 supports will encourage the runners together with bands,artists, dancers and drummers. Over 1,000 people-staff, volunteers, police forces will ensure that on Sunday, October 9th, the capital will be transformed into a city of joy, sports and entertainment.
RUNNING CLUB Bucharest placed Bucharest on the world map of capitals hosting such events - celebrations of cities. In the last 9 years BRC founded and developed sports tourism – on the occasion of Bucharest RUNNING CLUB Premier Events, the capital is visited by more than 3,500 foreigners, some of them coming for the first time in Romania.
