Paramount Channel launches in Romania
The movie channel Paramount Channel recently launched in Romania, based on a distribution contract signed with RCS&RDS for its digital platform Digi, as well as with several smaller cable companies, according to Mediafax.
Paramount Channel is run by Viacom International Media Networks, a division of Viacom, which also runs internationally the TV channels MTV, Nickelodeon VH1 and Comedy Central Extra. From June 1, the TV station will also be included among digital cable channels broadcast by RCS & RDS.
Earlier in February this year, Paramount Channel launched in Russia and Hungary, and was planning to roll out in additional international markets. In Hungary and in Russia, the company signed distribution agreements with local cable TV operators.
The Paramount Channel had its world premiere in Spain in early 2012. In 2013, Paramount Channel was launched in France.
The Paramount Channel offers select films from the library of Viacom unit Paramount Pictures, as well as other movies.
