Party wants taxation of large fortunes in Romania
The National Union for the Progress of Romania party (UNPR) wants the Parliament to re-discuss the draft legislation taxing large fortunes and on lowering the voting age from 18 to 16 years, according to the UNPR President Gabriel Oprea.
"We want to reintroduce in the public debate two major projects for UNPR: taxation of big fortunes - this law did not pass the Parliament three years ago because of only two votes - and lowering the voting age from 18 to 16 years," said Oprea, cited by local news agency Mediafax.
The draft proposed by UNPR requires that assets above EUR 450,000 should be taxed by 1%.
