The Henri Coanda international airport in Bucharest saw a 10 percent higher traffic last year, to 4.9 million passengers. The number of aircraft movements on the airport also grew by 6 percent lats year on the previous, to almost 77,000 landings and takeoffs.

Around 41 percent of the travelers embarking on flights on the Henri Coanda airport went to Schengen country destinations. The Baneasa airport also saw a growth in the number of passengers, up 7.5 percent, to 2.1 million passengers. The number of landings and takeoffs went up by 10.7 percent, to 29,700.

The total traffic on the two international airports in Bucharest reached 7 million passengers and 106,000 landings and takeoffs. The two Bucharest airports have been incorporated into the Compania Nationala Aeroporturi Bucuresti.
