Patricia Brady-Danzig (in picture), the American artist born in New York, will present two events in Romania this March.

Tuesday, March 19, 2013, Patricia Brady will present an evening of traditional Irish music at Cercul Militar in Bucharest, from 19:00. Her acclaimed Irish music will be performed by Wiener Walzer Opera Orchestra led by Lucian Vladescu, conductor of the National Romanian Opera and Operetta Bucharest. The Irish Ambassador to Romania - Oliver Grogan, Deputy Head of Mission - David Costello and the tenor Florin Ormenisan will be among the guests of this event. Find more about this event here.

The second event is scheduled for March 24, 2013, starting 18:00, when Patricia Brady-Danzig will present the world premiere of Fabrizio The Musical , written by the American artist with conductor/composer Sabin Pauta, based on the children’s book series Fabrizio’s Fable. The musical will premiere in Bistrita, Romania, conducted by Sabin Pauta, leading the Chamber Orchestra of Cluj Philharmonic. The event will take place at Synagogue Bistrita.

Also in March, the Romanian version of Fabrizio’s Fable, written in English and Romanian, will go on sale throughout the country.

Patricia Brady earned a master’s degree in music and a Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from the College of St. Rose, Albany, NY. She was chosen as one of the Top 100 Irish Americans of 2000 by the Irish America Magazine.

Patricia Brady first visited Romania in 1980 at the suggestion of her mentor, the renowned Metropolitan Opera Basso, Jerome Hines. She performed in Romania several times and in 2002 she received the Symbol Star of Romania from the Romanian President at that time - Ion Iliescu. The American artist is also a Board Member of the Pro Patrimony Historic Preservation Society in Romania dedicated to rebuilding Romania after the Communist regime.

In 2003, she expressed her appreciation for traditional Romanian music when she recorded From Romania With Love, a collection of her favorite Romanian folk and love songs. In the same year, Patricia Brady toured Eastern Europe, including Romania and Hungary. Read more about her here.
