PayPoint’s volume of bill payment transactions in Romania up 35% in the year ended March 31
Retail payment services network PayPoint recorded a volume of over 25 million bill payment transactions in Romania over the financial year ended March 31, 2013, up 35 percent compared to the previous year, according to the company. PayPoint’s positive results in Romania were supported by the expansion of the services portfolio available to consumers and the increasing number of suppliers and partners.
At the end of the 2012/2013 fiscal year, the company had over 7,300 payment points across the country, representing a year-on-year increase of 9 percent.
At a group level, PayPoint Plc reported a volume of 739 million transactions in the financial year ended March 31, up 12 percent over the same period last year.
The company currently has operations in the UK, Ireland, Romania, France, USA and Canada. In Romania, PayPoint officially launched its bill payment service under the PayPoint brand in August 2008 and expanded its client portfolio by signing partnerships with a range of companies in service sectors, including utilities, financial – insurance, cable TV and mobile telecom.
