Piraeus Bank Romania posts EUR 6.4 mln profit for the first half

Piraeus Bank Romania made a gross profit of EUR 6.4 million in the first half of 2014, as the bank reduced its costs related to non-performing loans and increased corporate lending. The result is double compared to the profit posted by the bank for the whole last year, which was EUR 3.3 million.

At the end of June, the total loan portfolio of the bank was EUR 1.5 billion, 11% higher compared to one year ago. The value of the deposits from clients increased by 17% in the last year, to EUR 1.1 billion. The bank’s total assets were EUR 2.05 billion, 15% larger compared to June 30, 2013.

Piraeus Bank has some 300,000 clients in Romania and a network of 135 units.
