Pizza Hut Delivery launches franchise program in Romania
Pizza Hut Delivery, American restaurant chain Pizza Hut’s home delivery service, aims to expand its business in Romania via a franchise system.
The company plans to open new locations in the big cities in Romania and reach a number of over 30 units in the next three years, reports local Wall-street.ro.
The purchase cost of a Pizza Hut Delivery franchise is EUR 25,100, and the average cost for opening a location is about EUR 200,000 based on the location’s surface. This amount includes the franchise fee, operating costs (equipment, fleet), and the costs for setting up a Pizza Hut Delivery point according to international standards. The minimum duration of the contract is 10 years with possibility of extension.
Pizza Hut Delivery currently has a network of 12 restaurants, of which eight are in Bucharest. The company had a turnover of EUR 7.2 million in 2016, up by 30% compared to 2015. This year, the sales increase could reach 35% or even 40% according to Dan Ilie, executive manager Pizza Hut Delivery Romania.
American Restaurant System, the company that owns the Pizza Hut franchise in Romania, had a turnover of EUR 35.5 million and a net profit of EUR 1.35 million in 2015. The financial data for 2016 hasn’t been made public yet.
