Two emergency landings at Bucharest airport in one day
Two planes, one belonging to KLM and a second one ran by the Scandinavian Airlines, made emergency landings at Bucharest’s Otopeni Airport on Tuesday morning, July 18.
At around 07:40, a KLM plane flying from Kuwait to Amsterdam requested to make an emergency landing at the Otopeni Airport due to technical reasons. It was reporting increased oil consumption at one of the engines, the Bucharest Airports Company announced. A few minutes later, the aircraft, which was carrying 298 people and the crew, landed safely at the Bucharest airport.
A few hours later, at 10:00, a Scandinavian Airlines plane also requested to make an emergency landing at the Otopeni airport because one of the passengers had respiratory problems and low blood pressure. The aircraft was flying from Copenhagen to Rhodes.
Once the aircraft landed at the airport, around 10:13, a medical team managed to stabilize the passenger.
None of the two incidents affected the traffic at the Otopeni Airport.
