Romania's PM says indoor restaurants could reopen on September 1

26 August 2020

Romania’s National Committee for Emergency Situations (CNSU) will meet on Wednesday to discuss the safety measures to be implemented during the electoral campaign as well as the possible reopening of indoor restaurants, theaters and cinemas, prime minister Ludovic Orban said on Tuesday, August 25.

However, restaurants could remain closed in the areas with high spread of the new coronavirus, the PM added.

One day before, on Monday evening, PM Orban said at Digi24 news channel that indoor restaurants could reopen starting September 1, “with certain conditions."

"We risk further affecting hotels if we do not offer dining conditions. We are also considering the possibility of resuming cultural life indoors," Orban told Digi24.
