Poiana Brasov and Rasnov resorts in Romania to be modernized under EUR 14.5 mln project

Romania’s Minister of Regional Development and Tourism, Cristian Petrescu recently signed two contracts with a total value of RON 62.7 million (some EUR 14.5 million) for leisure and entertainment spaces in Poiana Brasov, and for the modernization of Rasnov’s historic center.

The ‘Poiana Brasov tourist area planning - development of leisure and entertainment facilities’ project will be carried out over 24 months. Its total value amounts to some EUR 10.3 million, of which the grant is EUR 3.9 million. The project includes creating a complex for leisure and entertainment in Poiana Brasov resort, in order to increase the attractiveness for tourism in the area.

The second project, namely the ‘Integrated project for urban updating and modernization - Rasnov historical center', also has an implementation period of two years, and a total value of some EUR 4 million, of which the grant is EUR 3.2 million. This project includes developing the city’s Unirii Square as a pedestrian area, and building an underpass and an underground parking with a capacity of 100 places.

The two projects are included in the Integrated Development Plan of Brasov growth pole, financed under the Regional Operational Program.
