Police confiscate 100 outdoor cannabis plants in Buzau county village in Eastern Romania
A crop of over 100 cannabis plants were recently found in a village in the county of Buzau, in South – Eastern Romania. The Police already brought in for questioning two drug trafficking suspects in the case.
Investigators made six house busts, and discovered an outdoor cannabis crop in the village of Podgoria, Buzau county. They confiscated 116 cannabis plant following the investigation.
Earlier in July, another cannabis crop was found in the Western county of Arad, where over 300 plants were confiscated. Back then, an 18-year old was caught red-handed while taking care of the cannabis crop. The crop would have yielded 40 kilos of green cannabis.
In another case, a young man from Cluj was sentenced to three years in jail for cultivating cannabis – 16 kilograms of cannabis were found in the man's backyard, out of which he wanted to obtain 5 kilos of pure drug.
Cannabis is considered a high rick drug in Romania, and is on the list of illegal substances. Cannabis includes tetrahydrocannabinol, the principal psychoactive constituent responsible for the "high" associated with marijuana. Marijuana consists of the dried flowers of Cannabis plants selectively bred to produce high levels of THC and other psychoactive cannabinoids. Various extracts including hashish and hash oil are also produced from the plant.
